A Lakeside Music Venue Unlike Any Other

Located on the edge of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, The Coves Amphitheater was designed and built to provide a one-of-a-kind music venue for world-class talent. Designed to be a gathering place for lovers of all musical genres, The Coves Amphitheater was integrated into Smith Mountain Lake’s first sustainable community. In its first year, The Coves Amphitheater received commitments from over 10 musical artists to perform at this unique venue. From Grammy Award winners to local talent, The Coves Amphitheater showcases best-in-class entertainment in an intimate rural setting.

To date, the Coves Amphitheater has welcomed popular artists such as Indigo Girls, Kenny G, Trampled by Turtles, Michael Franti, Gregory Alan Isakov, Charles Esten, and more. The intimate setting created naturally by the surrounding landscape makes the Coves Amphitheater a favored destination for touring musicians.

Music with a Mission

The Coves began presenting live music to support and raise money for children in need in the fall of 2020 using the front porch of a cabin to serve as a stage. To support our efforts, artists such as The Lonesome River Band, Junior Sisk, and Jerry Douglas performed intimate and socially distanced concerts. This spearheaded our movement to build a state-of-the-art venue with stunning views of Smith Mountain Lake and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, sponsors, and guests, the Coves Amphitheater Charity Partner Program has contributed over $150,000 to our charity partners. These funds are obtained through ticket sales, SkyBox rentals, and attending one of our pre-concert catered dinners. Our volunteer staff also generously donates their tips to our charity pool.
