Historic Welcome Center

Our 100-year-old, renovated Guest Center serves visitors to The Coves seeking more information about joining our community, families in the process of building new homes, and as the Green Room for performers in our Charity Concert Series.   It can be reserved for meetings and social gatherings by Club members, and for overnight stays when a spare bedroom capacity is needed (subject to availability).

The “old barn” structure has been a working part of this land for almost 100 years, and until 2005 was a functioning part of the Board family farm (still our neighbor bordering our south ridge).  It has a rich history as a tobacco barn, blacksmith operation, machine shop, and (yes) still, with plenty of recovered objects to echo its past.  And we are blessed to have neighbors who worked in and around it as children who are still willing to share stories about life here long before Smith Mountain Lake was created.
