Renowned American progressive bluegrass band Nickel Creek has teamed up with
soulful singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan for a July 24 performance at The Coves Amphitheater.

Nickel Creek, which includes Chris Thile on the mandolin, Sara Watkins on fiddle, and Sean Watkins on guitar, has revolutionized the musical genre of traditional bluegrass for more than two decades. Well-known for their virtuosic instrumental skills and tight vocal harmonies, this Grammy award-winning trio has gained a dedicated fan base worldwide.

The group’s debut album, produced by Alison Krauss in 2000, showcased not just their instrumental virtuosity, but also their burgeoning songwriting prowess. Other albums quickly followed, including “This Side,” which earned them a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album and a broader following. In 2005, they released “Why Should the Fire Die?” This album incorporated elements of alternative rock and indie pop into their acoustic music repertoire as well.

Aoife O’Donovan will share The Coves Amphitheater stage with Nickel Creek. Known for her rich, ethereal voice and heartfelt songwriting, O’Donovan has carved a niche for herself in the contemporary folk and Americana genres. Her performances have earned her critical acclaim and a devoted following.
