The Mavericks and The Paul Thorn Band take the stage at The Coves Amphitheater in Union Hall, Virginia, on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
Known for crossing musical genres and transcending boundaries, The Mavericks’ eclectic rock and country sound has been a force since its humble beginnings in Miami in 1989. The Grammy award-winning band is known for the hits “Dance the Night Away,” “Here Comes the Rain,” and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.”
The Mavericks have recently entered a new phase with a Spanish album, “En Espanol,” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Music Chart. The 12-song collection represents a diversity of musical styles and cultural traditions, including tender boleros, brassy mariachi, and reimagined Afro-Cuban classics. Seven of the tunes are familiar gems drawn from the vast Latin American songbook, while the others are originals, written or co-written by lead vocalist Raul Malo.
The Paul Thorn Band, fronted by the charismatic and authentic soulful Paul Thorn, provides upbeat music while entertaining the audience with his humorous take on life. The Paul Thorn Band bridges blues, southern rock, and folk genres resonating with audiences young and old.
